jumpy jolly jars

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with the teachers  forming groups to collaboratively create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

I learnt that instructions need to have a list of what you need, a method and maybe some pictures, a title maybe a subtitle.

Reflection on PBL:

For our Jolly Jars our group made gift jars. Gift jars are when you have things in a jar to make.  We put in zip lock bags with everything you need to make sock puppets or bookmarks. We put in instructions on how you make it then the person who buys it will have the instructions and the materials on how to make sock puppets bookmarks and bracelets. 

I contributed to my group by decorating the jars and posting out ideas.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because most people just put one thing in but we did three in one.

What I learned about working with others was it isn't always easy but you have to collaborate together to decide on the best idea.

How did we build community through our actions? Our school  raised money for the bike track so that we could ride our bikes at school.
