Lego day!

 Hi guys,

Last week on Friday a Lady named Rachel from house of bricks came to our school with lots of Lego!

We have been learning about Character and Collaboration for P.B.L and this was our booster to get some Character juices boosting through us. We had a few fun challenges that we had to get through, through the day that we all really enjoyed. The first activity that my group went through was the Mosaics. This was a fun activity for many people but this just wasn't my thing I like art but after a while of making designs made of Lego and breaking it apart i was a bit getting a bit bored but after morning tea I was in for a real treat! After morning tea we all headed to year 7 and 8 hub where Lego of different shapes, sizes and colours were scattered across mats. We sat down listening to Rachel as she explained the next task. The task was to go over to a mat of our choice which already had small brown bases for everyone to build upon. When we had chosen a mat we would start building something for a period of 5 minutes after the 5 minutes was over we had to pass it round to the next person clockwise and they would continue building on our base for another 5 minutes and pass it round to the next person. So I started building a Pre-school. My Pre-school was going very successfully until the 5 minutes was over and I passed it to the boy next to me for him to continue, and everything from then on just changed! At first he was building on to make my Pre-school then he saw a eyeball in the Lego pile and stuck it on and my Pre-school become a Eye-school. We  went round and round in a circle and my creation kept becoming more and more eyeballnised ( if that even is a word ) until my Pre-school came to one person who changed it completely. This girl took every single eye-ball out of the Pre-school and returned it to what it was first supposed to be an ordinary Pre-school.  Soon after our time was up and we went to the next rotation. We got into peers to make a super fast, super speedy speeding race car. We were all given wheels to start our creation with. Me and my buddy looked round for things that would make it go a larger distance faster. We thought that weight at the back would make it go fast so thats what we did. We went back and forth testing our race car until time was up. We all sat down and watched cars race down the ramp. Ours was first. We were against someone and we won. We had a chance...although we thought. As more and more cars went down the ramp we knew we were not gonna be on that podium. In the end we were no where close to the top, although our car did go down the ramp we lost, and what a great loss it was.

Junk food or no junk food?

Hi Everyone and welcome back to my blog,

Today I have a debate that needs to be settled among the schools. Should schools have junk food?

Comment below to share your views on the subject. Enjoy!

Junk food should be allowed and served at school

Junk food, delicious food served at takeaways but not at school. Yes not at school! Wouldn't you love to open your lunch box and see a juicy burger and some french fries waiting for you to dig in? Don't you think that schools these days are getting a little unfair.

A lack of food can cause a lack of energy which would cause a slump in children's focus. Why can't they just eat normal food you ask, not many kids like the food put in their lunchboxes and that causes them not to eat it due to a lack of appetite.

These are some more reasons why Junk food should be allowed and served at school.

Ever forgot your lunch and the teachers gave you something disgusting to eat but you had to eat it because you had no lunch. Ever been tired one morning and don't want to go to school, junk food waiting for you can boost your excitement and make you extra ready to get to school.

So teachers and parents, pack a nice big burger, hot dog or more in your child's lunch. Do you agree that it will bring a brighter day to your child's life?

Umbrella- A story of empathy, love and gratfullness

 Hi again,

We have been writing a small chunk of the short film Umbrella which is all about a girl who went to visit an orphanage and her whole life was changed. Through a small act of kindness she had made the greatest choice of her life. Here is my chunk comment below what you think!

-Umbrella-

One foggy dawn, while the dew fell upon the leaves, the door to Miss Elm’s Home for Children sprang open with a bang! The girl with the stunning, sunshine yellow umbrella tiptoed reluctantly into the orphanage, quickly finding a safe home for her umbrella. And not wanting to be seen Boris crisply whipped his head round the door frame so he was hidden from view. Standing off to the side the little girl watched the glorious scene as the children searched in the box for her lost treasures. A smile glistened across the girl's face as she watched the other young girl clutch the doll as if she was her own mother. The girl's smile swiftly melted as she looked over to the umbrella stand that was left with puddles of cold water. Her beloved umbrella had been stolen before her very eyes.
