Are Stereotypes Fair???

Hi guys welcome back to my blog.

This week during writing we were learning about stereotypes.
Stereotypes are beliefs of how the world works. An example of gender stereotypes is nurses are girls and doctors are boys. That how people think the world works, it might not be true or you may not agree but thats a stereotype. There are many kinds of stereotypes including gender stereotypes and race stereotypes. Stereotypes are not made to offend people their just made to make the world less complected. For writing I made a poster. Which familiar stereotypes can you see in my poster?? I hope you like my poster! Enjoy!

Should school be online?

 Should School Be Online?

Hi welcome to my blog.

During the past few weeks NZ has been in lock down so we have been learning online. During this time we had to write a lot of persuasive texts and this was one of them. We had a lot of time online and the question came, should we stay this way? I wrote this persuasive text to share my opinion on online school. Comment down below your opinion and why. Enjoy!

Should School be online? That's the question circling the internet in these trying times. But should school really be online? Everyone everywhere has a right to a good education and online learning could deprive children of that and that's why I think children should be taught from school.

Since 2020 when the virus got serious most learning has gone online to make sure that the virus does not spread as much but during this period children of different backgrounds have been deprived of their learning.

Each family has a different situation and some may not be able to afford devices used for online learning which would cause their children not to participate in school activities. Even in a case where all parents have enough devices to share and are working from home it is hard to control your children while video conferencing with your colleagues.

Not only that, online school affects children's health as well. Learning at home is a very unhealthy choice especially when learning is online. Screen time and not enough exercise can cause children to have bad eyesight and with food coming in more often it can cause children to add on some extra weight that may be harmful for their health, but with a fixed diet at school your children will be forced to be eating what is packed for them and only what is packed for them, with often exercise during breaks and fitness.

More dangers of online school is not having supervised care. Without the attention of teachers or parents, children can get distracted and do things that have nothing to do with school work and could be harmful for their thinking at a young age.

Lastly, I think that learning from home could affect children's school and social life. Being far from your teachers can make it harder for them to communicate with their teachers and with questions unanswered the children can be misled and won't know how to do their work handing in bad work at the end of the day with teachers wondering what happened.

Many children have no siblings and a lack of a social life could cause children not to be used to being around children so when living in the real world it will be hard for them to be used to being around other people and it will be hard for them to develop good team building skills. Moreover, learning from home can make kids miss meets and instead of a classmate chasing them down to remind them, they end up missing their workshop and forgetting about what to do, this will cause their grades to drop severely after a couple times of missing meets.

So in conclusion for all these reasons school should be taught from school.

What do you think? Do you really want your child's grades to drop because they are too lazy to wake up in the morning?
